Kindness For Kids is a local non-profit organization that was started in 1994. The organization began with the thought of helping Rhinelander area children who found themselves in less than fortunate circumstances during the Christmas season. It was decided that their needs could best be served by getting the community involved. Kindness for Kids coordinated the placement of camouflage collection boxes at area merchants and businesses, which has become a visual connection for the community during the Christmas holiday season. The toys are collected, sorted, and distributed right back to children and families in need.

We consider ourselves a means of spreading the generosity, love, sharing, and kindness of the community; we simply collect it, organize it, package it, and make sure it gets to those in need. 100% of the toys and money donated are returned to the community. Coordination between many local organizations helps us accomplish our primary goal of reaching all kids in our surrounding area who find themselves in less fortunate situations. We delivered toys to over 40 families the first year, and have since brought the Christmas/community spirit into thousands of local children's lives.

Kindness for Kids is made up of volunteers who share the spirit of giving, and continue making it possible to realize the original dream. As a community based organization, we are continually searching for ways to help needy children who are burdened by circumstances beyond their control. Our mission is to serve these children and their families by delivering the spirit of Christmas.
